About Roman Roman was born in Kosice, Slovokia. As a child he fell in love with country music through the influence of his parents and relatives from the United States. His early influences were Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Buck Owens. As time went on he also began to love the musical style of Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. So much that he would perform many of their songs at his shows. At the age of 15, he started playing country and folk music for horse shows. A few years later he put together a local band called Zahuraci. He then began writing songs. In 1995, he won the all state festival for country music new talent. In 1996 he won best country singer in Slovokia. In 1997, he sang with bands Druhe, Tvare, and Veslari during festivals in Slovokia and Europe. In the summer of 1999, he left Europe on his journey to the USA in the hopes of furthering his music career. That summer he started playing in local bars and at fairs. In 2000, he visited Nashville and sang at the world famous Tootsies and at the legendary Nashville Palace. In 2001, Roman was personally invited to play at the Czek/Slovak and Polish week long festival that took place in New York City. In 2002, he competed in a Nashville showcase where he ranked as one of the top 10 musicians. 2003-2006 produced many more highlights, too many to mention. In 2007, Roman went to Nashville again, this time to work with Producer David Walker and record an eleven song c.d. This was Roman’s first complete project in English. It features some country gospel, some traditional country, and even has some of Roman’s songs rewritten in English. This c.d. will be released in the spring of 2008. www.walkermusic.org
