Bio
Singer, Songwriter…. Amore Blues Born and bred in North London, Amore Blues is the bright young hope for British Soul. Formally known as Chanelle and praised for her single ‘The Art of Conversation’ released in 2004, this Libran has clearly been blessed with a pure voice and the will to succeed. “I’ve always loved music,” she says, now I’m doing what I love. It seems other people like what she's doing too, Blues and Soul magazine have selected her as the one to watch and describe her voice as "real cute, and she marries her sweet flow with a gorgeous groove". Born in 1982, from a young age it was clear that Amore Blues was fiercely musical. Her mother and older sister remember her posing in front of the mirror performing to herself and spending hours in her room creating her own tapes. Further experience, and real encouragement, was found at school. Her love, and obvious talent, for singing came to the fore very early on. Amore Blues worked out routines in the playground with her friends and the spotlight was often on her during assemblies as she belted out her own compositions in front of her classmates. She heeded the advice of her parents and headed off to college, getting a solid education. Though she hasn’t yet become the lawyer her proud Mum thought she might, University put her in touch with noted producer Harmony. They clicked very naturally, started putting tracks together and very soon came to the attention of 6060 Records who immediately signed Amore Blues up. The partnership with 6060 is working out equally as well as the ongoing work with Harmony. “6060 are as determined to make this work as we are,” says Amore Blues, “We’ve got nothing but trust for them.” Very soon the music really started to come together. “It’s very soulful and very now. It brings the tradition of Soul into the 21st Century and beyond!” laughs Amore Blues. The music is smooth R&B Soul, with smatterings of Pop and a hint of Hip Pop. As the young Miss Blues says, “There’s enough happening for any true music lover to feel it; and there are aspects of everyone who has put love, energy and Soul into this.” Though there’s no doubt that she has a vibe and swing all of her own, Amore Blues has been likened by many to the late, great Aaliyah and admits to various musical influences. “When I was younger it was all about the big, powerful voices like Whitney, Maria and Celine. Now, however I have progressed and got more into music. I really admire Beyoncé and Musiq Soulchild but I also have grown to love rap and even artistes like Alanis Morrisette and Linkin Park. I listen to everything! Amore Blues’ aim for the immediate future is simple. “I want to do well with the album. Obviously I want a number one but this is what I do and I will carry on regardless whatever happens. It would be nice to be up there at some of the Awards shows too!” Amore Blues seems set to continue to beguile, touch and influence people with her unique and potent voice. The sky is the limit for this talented Brit, She recently wrote the lyrics to the track Imagine for Cancer Research UK which features Brit and Mobo award winner Shola Ama, and double MOBO award winner Kele Le Roc. She has also recently recorded a track with American rapper Styles P formally of L.O.X. She has a few plans of her own though. “What do I want? To be known and respected for my music. Oh, and world domination!” Don’t bet against her. Amore Blues single and Debut album “Shades of Blue” will be released shortly through 6060 Records[b]
