Bio
“Spoonfork” started out as a one man project, in early 2007, as a loose, laid back name for amateur song writer/producer Oscar Lundin to create music under. The point of the project was to have something quite unserious and “easy” to fall back on, whilst working on other, more serious projects. The goal of the “Spoonfork”- project was to try and make music only using spontaneity as the key inspirational source, hardly any retakes, no rehearsals etc… And by working with such primitive measures – drill the creator of the music in handling exposure and reviews, even when not fully satisfied with the track/tracks. So in a way you might call the early days of Spoonfork, a way for Lundin to batter his own self consciousness. In the beginning “Spoonfork” primarily stood for heavy bass lines, drums, some aggressive out of tune singing and various folk music instruments, but by the summer of 2007, Lundin got bored with all the alone time and flatness of the original sound, and contacted friend and classical guitarist Adam Olson. “Spoonfork” now introduced its second member. The old rules regarding retakes and spontaneity would still apply and the only difference in “Spoonfork” on a large scale, would be the creative guitar riffs that would soon come to fix their permanent impression on the “Spoonfork” sound. The two started working on the first “Spoonfork” album, and in just a few months they had almost too much material to handle. The race was on against, in Lundin’s case – the burdens and complications of unemployment and being constantly broke, and in Olson’s case – simply the mind goggling and overwhelming boredoms of- and trying to stay sane whilst working the night shift at the local sawmill. Between them, Lundin and Olson, harvest from a wide scale of musical inspirational sources. Though some parts of their debut album “All is well” have crossed over the thin but still dreaded borders of pop, the largest part of it still plays with everything from alt-rock to doom and stoner metal. Line up: Oscar Lundin is the primary song writer and producer, and in addition to that plays electric bass, various rhythm instruments, melodica, woodwind and sings lead. Adam Olson is the secondary song writer and lead guitarist. He also plays the theremin on a few tracks.
