Bio
Iowa City based rock’n’roll band, Nervous Disorder, was formed in early 2005 with a grand total of four members. A fifth was quickly added for a second guitar, and later a sixth for a total of three guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. It was finally whittled down to a core three players, within the span of three or four months, when it became apparent that the current formula was not working. Said power trio includes: Zach Thayer, on guitar and lead vocals; Matt McDowell, on bass guitar; and John Boland, on drums. All are original members. Both of the latter also throw in their fair share of backing vocals. Nervous Disorder was formed with the understanding that, the main focus of their music would be classic metal in the style of Metallica, and the then-outrageously popular punk of Green Day. This ended up being a fairly ironic decision due to the fact that the band quickly settled into a much different routine of smoother genres including blues, and classic rock. The creative core, (Zach and John,) joined as barely acquaintances, brought together by a mutual friend. Nervous Disorder is currently working on their second album, sporting a much more polished, and a decidedly bluesier feel. After recording is complete, they plan on begining regional touring.
