MIGHTY SIDESHOW is a 4-piece Hard Rock band from Chattanooga,TN. Their influences include timeless acts such as TOOL, METALLICA, PANTERA, and PINK FLOYD. Their music features thought provoking lyrics with impressive vocals, awesome rock guitar riffs, and world class percussion. The SIDESHOW has enjoyed radio success nation wide and performed as an opening act for many great bands: SEETHER, SEVENDUST, 10 YEARS, SALIVA, DOPE, BREAKING BENJAMIN, NON-POINT, 3 DOORS DOWN, TED NUGENT, TESLA, and JACKYL just to name a very few. They have been featured on, and "added to playlists" on Reporting Radio Stations nation wide. MIGHTY SIDESHOW IS : ALAN WHITENER (vocals/guitar), CORY POWELL (bass), KEVIN NELSON (drums), and RODNEY SMITH (lead guitar). The band formed in 1998 and spent their first couple of years playing covers around the southeast. the SIDESHOW developed quite a reputation doing so, and played to record setting crowds at CLUB LA VELA in Panama City Beach,FL. In 2001 MIGHTY SIDESHOW decided to concentrate on original music, and recorded a live demo that became "THE INTRO", even with very limited exposure and distribution, it sold in the thousands. In 2002 the SIDESHOW began working with JEFF TOMEI, an accomplished producer who has recorded SMASHING PUMPKINS, MATCHBOX 20, and JERRY CANTRELL as well as many others. Their efforts resulted in PART OF SOMETHING, the SIDESHOW's first studio album. In 2003 MIGHTY SIDESHOW enjoyed thier first taste of radio success, with the singles MIRROR, and PART OF SOMETHING . From WCCC in Hartford, CT. to KHRO in Elpaso,TX., the SIDESHOW recieved nation wide radio spins and were featured in the "TOP 100" on several stations that year. Even with NO MAJOR LABEL or distribution MIGHTY SIDESHOW has managed to sell nearly TEN THOUSAND copies of PART OF SOMETHING at live performances, web-site sales, and limited retail. DARE YOU TO THINK was recorded and produced, by TOMEI in the summer and fall of 2004. Even with MAJOR LABEL flirtations, no deal surfaced and the SIDESHOW was again forced to operate on a limited budget; however, in the spring of 2005, Rock Radio Stations from the southeast to the mid-west began adding "99 WAYS" ,and MIGHTY SIDESHOW enjoyed another year of strong radio play in 2005. 2006 proved to be a great year for the SIDESHOW, with their single, CHARADES, featured as the NUMBER ONE requested song on WRXR ROCK 105.5 FM in Chattanooga; as well as sales of their "CD SAMPLER" reaching nearly 4,000 units, inspite of limited touring in '06.The Re-Release Of (DARE YOU TO THINK) in 07 has been flying off the shelves!
