Bio
Jimi James' Biography The musician you are looking for: 19 year old blues/reggae lead guitarist. Born James Bolduc, but referred stage name JIMI JAMES. Born and raised in rural Maine, and moved to Boston MA, to further his education as a student and become a more proficient musician. Self taught guitarist, with music education courses and lessons. Influences SRV, Buddy Guy, and Bob Marley. At this time I am attending AI, The New England Institute of Art in Boston. Majoring in Audio Production/ Engineering. Currently I am recording my first demo in the studio. It will be a blues/ reggae instrumental. All of the work is my original compositions. As a guitar player for ten plus years, I have committed my time to pursue my dream as an artist, and successfully reach that goal and turn it in to reality. As I master my first demo I am using Beta Records Co. for my promotion deal. My music can be heard on betarecords.com/jimijames, as well as showcaseyourmusic.com. now that I am a well rounded musician with experience in recording, performing, and composing. I feel it is time to cut a deal professionally. As a solo musician I do all the work such as recording, mixing, and engineering. I record my guitar both rhythm and lead, and produce other instruments using computer software, and Midi devices or synthesizers, to get a full band sound. As well as all of the editing of sound quality, and frequencies. As a goal in life to become a well know musician, not for the fame but to express my talent to everyone. My passion for music has become my life and I want to share that with everyone. To help improve my improvisation and composition I completed a summer program with Berklee College of Music, focusing my attention on Blues music. Besides from the education I have had my hands on the music business as an artist. Since the age of 13 I have been playing lead guitar in bars/lounges. I would improv solos with live bands for local venues. Since I dont sing people have related me to Calos Santana, But I do sing, just through my guitar. Soon after I would have paid gigs left and right to host local Open Mic Jams. I soon then had a passion for the art of recording and mastering my compositions. My current project recording my first demo is my stepping stone to making it professionally. My biggest accomplishment was Playing lead guitar with The Marshall Tucker Band, Once at the age of fifteen and again at the age of sixteen. When they came back to Maine I sat in with them again, Where I performed a ten minute jam over the Thrill is Gone where I played lead guitar, Chris Hicks and received two standing ovations. My first demo will include instrumental blues/reggae compositions. Not only do these compositions express my talent, but it shows what's in my heart and soul.
