Avery Hovey Whether it be on a stage in New England or a Honky Tonk in Tennessee, Avery Hovey’s deep soulful voice wins over her audience every time!! Choosing from a vast repertoire of songs ranging from the classical sounds of Patsy Cline to the contemporary sounds of Susan Tedeschi, Avery is a seasoned performer with a style and attitude well beyond her 16 years! “She’s only 16? !!!!”, they say. Well, believe it because Avery has been entertaining audiences since the age of 3, when she grabbed a microphone at a family gathering and belted out “You Are My Sunshine.” In March 2004, at the age of 12, Avery Hovey recorded her first CD. “So Far So Good,” with producer Jerry Webb at The Project Room in Hendersonville TN. That studio experience with professional musicians made her desire for a career in the music industry even stronger. So strong, that Avery originally from the small town of Litchfield, New Hampshire moved with her parents to Portland, Tennessee to pursue her musical dreams. Always goal-oriented, Avery continues to be musically-driven in Tennessee. Currently Avery is the 2007 Music City Rising Star Grand Champion, this being won at CMA Fest in Nashville, and just recently captured the Sonic Search For a Star competition in the teen division. Her cd, “So Far So Good” won Country Album of the Year at the North American Country Music Assn. International competition in 2006. Avery also takes the stage whenever possible with her band, Cooktown, or acoustically with producer & good friend Jerry Webb. Since moving to Tennessee, Avery’s schedule has included benefits and venues in the area like Songwriters Night at The Commodore, The Hotel Preston and Tootsies all in Nashville Tennessee; Lincoln County Fair, Putnam County Fair, Benton County Fair, Mid South Fair, Williamson County Fair, Strawberry Fest Portland TN, Renfro Valley KY; Jett Williams Festival, Opry Mills Mall, Champions Sports Grille in Bellevue TN; Bottomview Farm in Portland TN. In New England Avery has performed all over including the Indian Ranch in Webster Mass. When she’s got down time, Avery finds herself working on her songwriting skills. She has songs recently written that she will record on her next cd which she plans on beginning sometime in the late Winter of 2008. She will record this at Fireside Studios in Nashville TN, (one of her prize winnings) from the Sonic Search for a Star competition. Whatever she’s doing , this young multi-talented singer/ songwriter is doing it right. No matter the occasion or audience, Avery always gets the crowd in her corner.
