SYRANT BAND BIO Syrant is an original melodic metal band from Detroit, Michigan. Their sound and musicianship have earned them a reputation for being one of the most entertaining and original metal acts out of the metro Detroit area. They have thrilled audiences for nearly 20 years with their high energy shows. Current members are Brian Thomas (lead vocals), Bill Luddington (drums), Rob Demoss (guitars), Ed Reid (bass & keyboards). Syrant originally formed in 1986, but they have undergone some lineup changes over the years. They lost their original lead singer Steve Pirrone to a paralyzing spinal injury from a devastating car crash in 2006. They put together a huge benefit show to help pay for his hospital bills. The song "coming back" is written for and about Steve. They have continued on and recruited veteran singer Brian Thomas as their front man. Brian comes to them from the infamous heavy metal horror show Halloween, adding an extra taste of darkness to their powerful chemistry. Syrant has had a loyal following for many years attracting large crowds that value the authenticity of their music and pure power of their live shows. Syrant has won numerous battles of the bands, Detroit live awards, and has been featured on several local radio stations such as 101.1 WRIF and Z-Rock.
