Ruben Gomez has shined in the limelight for over two decades as an international singer and actor. Brooklyn-born Gomez began his career at the early age of 4, acting in television commercials and performing jingles for national advertisers such as McDonald's and Roy Rogers. He went on to study acting and has held leading roles in several productions, including Broadway's "Oliver", seven off-Broadway productions and the feature film "A Time To Remember". At the tender age of 10 he appeared at New York's Village Gate impersonating Elvis. This same year he released a solo album entitled "No Es Una Illusion", the Spanish version of "Puppy Love" made popular by Paul Anka and Donny Osmond. In 1987, Ruben joined the internationally acclaimed group Menudo, replacing Robby Rosa. He became the first Menudo not to be a resident of Puerto Rico. As a member of Menudo, Ruben recorded nine albums in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Tagalog. After leaving the group in 1990, he was a part of two rock bands: Kings Harem and Swvetback. He also appeared in the Broadway Musical "Z-The Masked Musical" CD as "Diego/Zorro". In July 1997, he released his first solo album titled "Ruben Gomez" which was produced by Daniel Freigberg. He also recorded two songs in English "I Can Lose Myself In You" and "Let It Rain" for promotion in the Philippines. In 2000 "Siempre Manana" was released in Germany, where he had a lengthy tour. The following year he released the single "Baila Baila Con Migo" in Spanish and English, reaffirming his success in Europe. Ruben is currently looking for a label that believes in him and his music.
