Bio
Jonny Mernagh is a 27 year old singer songwriter from Swansea , Wales in the UK . Jonny started off playing guitar at the age of 18 and also decided to try his efforts at singing the same time . His influences include John Lennon , The Beatles , Oasis , Chuck Berry , Little Richard , Bon jovi , Rufus Wainwright and many more At the age of 19 he bought himself a multitracker and started to write and record his own tunes . He started off with just guitar vocals on a four track machine . A year on he developed his skills with the keyboard and harmonica to add to his own musical creations . After much encouragement and solo performences Jonny was asked to join a local band Called the Metros which he fronted . The Metros were a sucessful band in the area and progressed into the semi finals if the Band of Britain contest in May 2006 , however the band called it a day in october 2006 and Jonny started to focus on his solo work again . In May 2006 his song "NO MANS LAND" was used on a compilation disc for up and coming artists and received alot of attention on the myspace website In February 2007 his song "LOST" was used on a film in the U.S titled "strange isn't it" care of "big roar media" Jonny recently won "song of the year" 2008 for his category in march for his song "no mans land" he also had 4 semi final entries in the Uksc contest in 2008 also . Jonny is currently writing "snakes and ladders" which is a follow up album to "delusions of grandeur" which was released in may 2007 .
