The big voice from a warm and caring heart From the first day her song was played on the local radio in her hometown Mosjøen and until this very day, Amanda Hegge Jensen’s voice has created admiration, joy and warmth to the people who have been listening to her while singing. When her songs have been played, or when she has been out touring, people always want to listen to more from this girl. No the chance is here again. Amanda is a normal, shy 15 year-old girl from Mosjøen, Norway. Her big dream is to get her songs and music out into the world. Despite her age, and despite being an active school student, she has until now succeeded with this. Amanda is one of her kind. She has until now done a lot with her song. She gave out the single “To grandpa” as a memory of her grandpa who died of cancer. Cancer is something that has hit hard in the Hegge Jensen family. This created an idea which grew bigger and bigger with Amanda and her mum Solvår. During frequent visits with a grandpa sick of cancer, they realised that the help and support for the relatives was rather bad. Therefore the”Amanda- foundation” was established and the income from the sale of the single as a whole, was given to the creation of a room for the relatives in the Regional Hospital in Nordland and the local hospital Mosjøen. One of these rooms is already being used and this has made the relatives and the sick people very happy. The next room of this kind will be opened here in Mosjøen before this autumn. This is not the only thing that Amanda can add to her musical CV. She is also chosen to be ”Nordlending of the year” (2005), and at 11 she debuted with her version of ”Born to try” by Delta Goodrem in a local radio broadcast. She also made a breathtaking performance in the Norwegian Broadcasting success “Anyone better?” in 2004. She has been portrayed in a number of magazines and last, but not least she performed when King Olav’s prize for cancer research was presented at Oslo University in 2006. There were many internationally reputed artists present as well, but Amanda made the headlines. Amanda is doubtlessly a busy teenager. She often performs at various concerts and conferences. The enormous amount of emails shows that she is being admired by music lovers of all ages. Her music is obviously touching. Spring and summer 2006 she has been busy producing her first commercial single at Studio Nord Mosjøen with the support of Fred Endresen. “Sun and Summer” could easily be counted among summer hits. It is a swinging and youthful sing-along hit that could help the short summer last a bit longer or, if you want, help spring come a bit earlier next year.
