We are currently booking shows, shooting a music video and scheduling the recording of a full length cd! ______________________________________________________ Mutei is an original 4-piece metal/rock band based in central New York. The band was formed in September, 2006, with guitarist Mickey Finley, drummer Eric Seelig, vocalist Paul Johnson, and bassist Jake Thurston. Mickey and Eric have been creating original music together since 2004. The quartet is a very goal-oriented band. They try to incorporate every influence they hold into creating their own unique sound. Mickey began playing guitar at the age of 5. Growing up playing everything from Nirvana to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mickey posesses a very diverse musical background and original writing style. He has worked very hard over the years to better himself at his guitar playing. He’s dropped out of school for touring, worked in guitar shops just to be around music, and just about everything and anything else to get himself into the realm of creating original music. Mickey later majored in guitar studies at the Berklee College of Music. He is the brain child behind the music that Mutei produces. Eric began playing drums at the age of 17. At first it was forced on him by Mickey. Through some deep experimentation and thought, drumming and creating original music became Eric’s drive in life. From A to B, Eric has done nothing but grow as an original drummer. Studying every sound signature that a drum can make, while not taking any lessons, Eric refuses to conform to what is defined as a textbook drummer. Without Eric, Mutei would cease to exist. The rest of the band feel that they can not play in an original band with another drummer. Paul Johnson was originally a drummer in and out of bands since a young age of 15. It was only in the last year with singing backup vocals in other projects that he discovered his hidden nack for fronting a band. Since he's joined Mutei, the band has found its complete whole sound. Jake began playing bass at the age of 15. Jake is quite simply the one and only fourth element of Mutei. Having a large number of different bass players in and out of the band, Jake has stepped up and shown the band that he is the most talented and original bass player they have ever worked with. Jake was discovered by Mickey and Eric through other original projects in the past. On a whim, they asked him to be a part of Mutei. To their surprise, Mutei was finally a complete band with much potential. Mutei is always working on creating new material and currently has a large sum of new music to present to their audience. Mutei possesses the talent to never let their audience down. When performing live, they do their very best to put on the most energetic and emotional show that they are capable of. The overall goal for the members of Mutei is to make music for the rest of their lives and not starve while doing so. They hope that their music can reach out and touch their fans just as their predecessors have done for them.
