Bio
Knapsack toured Europe in the late Seventies, becoming one of the most innovative Folk-Duos in Germany. Then, 1980, the band broke. After 25 years Knapsack is reunited again. The current programm of Knapsack is as considerable as the last one. Innovative, full of athmosphere and vivacity. Following the the proved concept to mix trad. songs and Dancetunes with contemporary songs so the audience never knows what is new or old. Knapsack has not lost its accoutic rootes but added violin, viola and cello The melting of a “DADGAD” tuned guitar and mandoline with the graceful classical arrangements of the strings and fullfilled with the very unique sound of the button accordeon creates a music which is often headlined: Classic meets Folk. But this is not really close to reality. Knapsack follows the principles of German Music, they use the beautiful melodies and arrange them on top on a full soundcarpet, which reminds you of filmmusic, next moment of a chamberorchestra and next again it becomes simple and straight, impressive all time but not at all overloaded. Knapsack tells tales about love, jealousy, labour and unemployment, about dissapointment and success – Knapsack sings about Life. And with a good humour they have a funny view on their own and their life. [/b][indent]
