Bio
Contemporary Recording artist Joshua Hallas has been singing, writing and composing his own music for over 10 years. He comes from a long lineup of talent in his family including his late grandmother Kitty Chuckles who sang on the radio at age 13. His grandfather was a well known sax player. His father sang for the Marcos Family in the Philippines and acted on the hit series Magnum PI. His mother is still singing professionally until this day. At the age of 7 Joshua’s dad left the family causing a tremendous financial struggle. The youngest of four brothers Joshua's mom helped support the family with her singing. During this time Joshua went into a downward spiral. His mom feared that he would either end up dead or in jail; so she turned him over to God. One day as Joshua was sitting on a wall burned out from his wayward lifestyle when a little girl walked up to him and shared a booklet with him. In his song Good News Joshua details his testimony on how he came to Christ. In 1998 Joshua's music dream was completely destroyed by a trucking accident he had in Encino, CA. Another motorist had gone through a red light and crashed into his big rig. His left arm was caught in the steering wheel and broken in 5 spiral fractures. His arm was left broken for three days until he could get some help from Loma Linda specialists. When he got home he wept with his wife thinking he would never play guitar again. In 2002 he picked up his guitar again and started writing songs again. After some personal struggles his wife and he decided to sell their home in Big Bear, CA and go to Nashville, TN. He traveled across the United States with an RV and sang to many along the way. While in Nashville he got to sing at Opry Mills in the Gibson Theatre and sing with musicians that backed people like Garth Brooks and George Strait. He met and learned from the most talented writers and musicians from all over the USA. He also recorded his country demo. After Joshua returned he hooked up with his friend Jeff and started the band Sojourner. They went on a songwriting binge and wrote over a dozen songs together touching many people along the way. They toured for a year, got played and interviewed on 99.5 KKLA. When Sojourner decided to pursue a different artistic direction Joshua decided to go solo again. Now Joshua is on a whole other track for he doesn’t just want to merely entertain people but he wants to impact lives and whole communities for the gospel. He considers himself a minister first then a vocalist. He prays that many lives will be transformed as they hear the heart of God in his music [color="red"]MUSIC FOR SALE FOR .99 A DOWNLOAD OR $12.97 FOR THE CD AT http://joshuahallas.com[link="http://joshuahallas.com"] just click here and visit my music page.[link="URL"]
