[i]Eclectic singer/songwriter Jessie Williams surrenders her strong sense of ability through authentic acoustic sounds and melodies derived from the deepest realms of an intimate and personal journey. In both her writing and performance, Williams demonstrates her raw and inspiring experience of survival and determination that drives her to create original, empowering material. Each song, like a separate chapter, unfolds a story of continual hope and courage, moving each listener through her lyrical exposure of emotion. With a new CD in the works, scheduled to be released in the summer 2009, Williams is steadily moving forward. No stranger to the music industry, Williams impressed American Audiences at the 2002 Nashville Tennessee Country Music Alliance Awards where she proudly walked away with the Most Outstanding Showcase Entertainer of the Year Award as well as the Most Promising Female Artist of the Year. Williams has also shared the stage with the Guess Who’s Donny McDougal “Follow Your Daughter Home,” and accompanied famous country star Chris Ledoux’s band for a performance at Nashville’s Tootsies Bar. Williams’ exceptional and energetic performances on stage have taken her across Western Canada striking casinos, rodeos and countless clubs with her powerful presence, including the Main Stage at both the Calgary Stampede and the Edmonton Klondike Days. This Manitoba born, but now an Alberta girl, followed a gypsy lifestyle of movement from a young age and turned to music as a way of grounding herself. As a passionate singer and songwriter, Williams preaches the potential of sound and voice as a healing medium and gains her musical influence through lending a hand to others that need support during their own hardships. “I have been writing since I was about 10 years old and loved singing as far back as I can remember. I did the band thing for a few years and then I took a Hiatus and now I am back stronger than ever, ready for whatever God brings to me. I want people to see that no matter where you come from or where you have been, that there is hope for us all.” Williams will enlighten us all as she exposes the underlying truths of the heart and strength of the human spirit as she takes us down the road less traveled and reveals the inner peace that music can bring.
