[b]Lou Derr - [i]Singer/Songwriter/Performer[/i][/b] [b]L.A. MUSIC AWARDS LOU DERR “MALE SINGER/SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR AWARD!! L.A. MUSIC AWARDS[/b] ----------------------------------------------------- Lou Derr is a veteran in the music business. He has been performing on stage since the age of 14. Lou started writing and polishing his guitar licks in High School in the SF Bay Area. In 1980 Lou moved up to Lake County Ca. and put together a couple of different bands but it wasn't until 1985 when Lou Derr & Bootleg was born. There is a list a mile long of accomplishments that Lou has earned. Including 3 Marlboro Talent Round-ups and Wrangler Country Showdowns along with the latest L.A. Music award he just received in 06-07. Lou spent 4 years working for his music hero and mentor John Fogerty in the Bay Area during the CCR break-up before moving up North to Lake County, Ca. Since 1985 Lou has shared stages with over 40 headliners including Waylon, Merle, Charlie, Mickey Gilley and Carlene Carter and on and on. After a 11 year break due to a back injury, Lou started back with a new "Bootleg". He has put together a 6 pc "Rockin' Country" Band. He has been blessed with the best of the best, all seasoned performers, Lou has been touring Northern California since April 2006 performing all over the Northern Ca. area doing rodeos, wineries and concerts in the parks. "Everyone is turning out for the shows, It's great feeling knowing the old fans along with new ones are still out there supporting us". Lou wants to carry on the tradition of performing the songs the way they were meant to be. "I put my own style to these great songs without insulting the audience. after all they know how the songs are supposed to sound!"
