The South African Popular Music firmament welcomed a fresh, dynamic and pulsating new star its very own exquisite music diva, JAE! JAE is what's known in music industry parlance as a breakout artist. Her stunning debut solo single" Missing you " had, in just two weeks, been play-listed on over 60 radio stations countrywide, achieving numerous number one placings over a diverse range of radio categories. “Missing You" became one of the biggest musical events of 2002/3. In Jae's hometown of KZN, the region's premier radio station East Coast Radio, placed" Missing You" at a phenomenal no 4 on their Top 100 Songs for 2002. This was the only South African song in the Top 20. Also featuring the funky single" It's Over", the" Missing You " EP has gone on to bestow upon Jae the enviable distinction of being the first South African R&B Artist to achieve platinum sales status in her country. The success of" Missing You" remains - in the annals of the South African Music Industry - an extraordinary and awesome achievement. To prove that she was not a one hit wonder, she followed up with three other hit singles off her debut album, viz: “It’s Over, I Love You & Falling”. In 2004 /2005 Jae’ success continued with the release of the radio singles “I Found Love” & Jaelousy”, resulting in her having no less than 6 national radio hits in the last 4 years. A STELLAR TRUIMPH OVER TRAGEDY “Missing You" was written in memory of Jae's sister Bronwyn and her niece and nephew who were killed in a car accident. Given the poignant history of the song, Jae's achievement is all the more profound as it provides a leading example of the triumph of the human spirit over severe adversity. Jae on the verge of giving up her dream of becoming a solo recording artist was persuaded by her brother-in-law (Bronwyn’s husband Noel) not to let go of that dream. He, also needing a reason to “go on” became her business partner and manager and they independently launched her as an artist in the South African music industry. Jae's package of a gifted vocal talent, world class songwriting ability, stunning, sensuous good looks, explosive stage presence, as well as a level headed, proactive and realistic attitude to her life and career is guaranteed to bring her abounding and sustained international acclaim.
