I primarily like writing up-tempo songs that will make people smile. I toured a lot in the early 90's through Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona with my band "Blade Perry" and Guns For Hire. Blade is my nickname because in my younger years I worked at night clubs as a bouncer and found myself on the wrong side of a knife on multiple occasions. One fateful night I was escorting a guy out when he spun around and tried to stab me in the stomach, I blocked his attempt but was cut badly on my left wrist which caused nerve damage and control to my pinky, ring and partially middle finger. After years of rehab and practice my control is returning and I am able to play the guitar again. This is huge for me because I am a spontaneous writer and will pick up the guitar at the drop of a hat when the inspiration hits me. You can't always call up your buddy @ 2:00 a.m. to help you with the melody. My dream and goal is to have one of my songs cut by a country artist. I enjoy writing and would also love to collaborate on some new material. I will say that if someone sees potential in any of my existing songs but thinks it needs a little tweeking, I am not opposed to a re-write and sharing rights to song.
