Introducing Young Swift. This new and upcoming teen fresh out of Durham, NC is just what the music biz needs today—"A New Hip-Hop Sound For A New Generation." The future of the rap game is here! Young Swift's expressive lyrics, catchy hooks and hot beats have been performed and listened to by audiences all over the world.
Three years ago at the age of 13, Charles Jackson now 16 years old, a.k.a. Young Swift, realized rapping was something he was well capable of achieving. In addition to rapping, in the mist of the creative process, he also discovered that he had a talent for writing lyrics, producing beats and creating hooks that have been described as 'well' beyond expectation for a beginning writer. Back then, like all young guys, Young Swift decided to form a group. However, like most rap groups, it didn't last. But that did not quell the passion in him to keep moving forward with his goal to become a talented MC. Over the years, Young Swift has performed numerously across the North Carolina area and records weekly in the studio.
Young Swift, delivers a smooth rap style along with a splash of R&B flavor. When he raps, he commands listener's attention and sends a message that inspires them to think and strive to be the best possible. Young Swift has a reputation amongst his peers as a true leader with loads of wisdom for someone so young.
Young Swift began producing his own beats but wanted more experience producers to add to the mix. Anxious, he checked out several producers and sampled beats looking for the right sound that complemented his style. Young Swift discovered producers, Ron Bridges, Corey Taylor and, most recently, Cj & Faras of BQ Music—the rest is history—Young Swift had his sound!
Young Swift's 1st CD, consisted of 11 songs. One of which included the track "Yeah." Atlantic Records' internationally known recording artist/producer 9th Wonder, formally of the group "Little Brother," was so impressed with Young Swift, in a jester to show his support, 9th did a remix of the track "Yeah." 9th Wonder commented on Young Swift's talent by stating, "You are definitely in the right business. And, your track "Good Things," is incredible! Keep pushing forward and you'll definitely achieve your goal." 9th Wonder has been an inspiring mentor for Young Swift every since.
When asking Young Swift the question, do you think music is something you will continue to pursue in the future? His reply was, "Experiencing the feeling of performing before live audiences and the much luv I've gotten from the people, I feel blessed to have been able to go inside myself and find something good to give. I want to stay here because I want to influence as many people as possible through my music to do the same—look inside and find the best of yourself, follow your dreams and keep your head up!"
