My name is Sean. I started performing music around 20 years ago ( I know it's hard to believe that I am over 30!) I really feel blessed to be able to write songs that can share my faith with others. I am currently a song writer/performer. While I love performing, I am really trying to make sure the song is done just right. I am looking for artists to write for, if you like the writing, I can write for you! Send a comment, and I will forward email.
Please keep that in mind as you listen to the music. I Hope that you all like the music, but more importantly I hope that you get something out of it more than a nice melody. Please use this music to open your hearts and let God in. And please rate the music if you feel moved to do so at the bottom of the page. Also, songs noted with * are ones recorded in a studio in Christiansburg, VA
If I (Could shut it down)
So, yeah. Wanted to write a heart break/long distance story for all those people out there going through it too! A little different from my normal songs. But I feel the passion and pain really shows trough in the writing and the vocals. Enjoy!
Little Seed
I have been going back and forth on this one for a while. At the request of a member on this site, I tried a little more electric guitar sound in the recording. The Idea for the song came from an old friend who wrote me a letter. In this letter she told her story of how she was saved, in part by some of the discussions her and I had. She talked about how she no longer felt a part of the old life she had returned to. She signed it it "Your little mustard seed" And I thought it would make a great song. So here you go.
Have Yourself a Silent Night
I have been performing this one for about 4 years now. I arranged it after having done Christmas songs over and over and over and...get the picture. I found a fun way to mix Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas, with Silent night. I tried to bring the tempo up and make the two kinda go back and forth. I love the looks on peoples faces when I perform it. They start to sing along...and then look like "what?" it's great. Enjoy!!!
I Thank You
I wrote this one on a spring break trip with some friends. We were working on a house for a very needy family, and I couldn't sleep. I just kept thing how great it was that I was saved. That God picked me to be saved. So I wrote this song.
Walking With the Giants
I wrote this one after seeing a flier for a summer camp. The theme for this past summer was walking with the giants. I reflected for a while and wrote this song. Inspiration comes from weird places, doesn't it!
It's All for You
I was praying and reading the Bible, and it just hit me like a ton of bricks...and this song just poured over me. So here you go. I hope you like it!
Brings Me Down
Another new one...I wanted to try a different style of music. I think the song turned out great. Let me know what you think!
Love for Him
I've had the tune for a while but no words. I was really going for a look at how we live. When I am not around other people, am I still the person God wants me to be?
Burning desire
I got the idea for this song while at work. The gas light came on and I thought " why is there nothing like this in our spiritual life that gives us a clear sign." So I thought and prayed about it and wrote this song.
On the way*
I wrote this one at summer camp this year. I was the worship leader/Program Director. The theme for this summer was on the way. I thought it would make a great hook, so I wrote this song, which became the theme song for the summer.
Will I Ever?
This one is hot off the presses!!! I just wrote this one, and am really excited.
Madi's Song
I wrote this one for my daughter. I love her so much. I will write a 3rd verse and maybe a bridge, but the right words have not come yet. !!!!UPDATE!!!!!
Ok so I have posted the updated recording. I wrote the 3rd verse and bridge...Let me know what you think. Still trying to decided if it's right. Thanks. :)
Leaving (On this train)
So this is the newest recording of this song. I didn't like the editing the studio did...so I rerecorded the song. I also changed it up a bit. I just can't seem to stick to one version of a song...oh well.
[b]All I know*
Heart got fixed!
[b]Lead me on*
I love the movie The Wizard of oz. I love Robert Frost and psalms. I realized one day that the 3 were really telling the same story, so I wrote this song.
I grew up listening to the fathers of Christian music ( Smity, SC Squared, DC Talk, before they did rock!, Sandy Patty,) and I fell in love with the fact that they were doing their own thing. They were not doing Christian versions of what was on the radio, they marched to the only drummer that mattered. As such, they have made great music and still do so today. I too have tried to just write the story that was on my heart. I hope those stories are told well. I have always tried to write from God's point of view. And I hope that comes out in the music.
I hope this will give a little more insight into why I wrote these songs. I have about 60 songs that I perform a lot. I will be getting more of them up on line. While these songs give an idea of some of the music I have written, these are not my best or all of my favs. These are just simply the songs that have meaning to my friends (except Madi's song...that one has a lot of meaning to me) I hope you have as much fun listening to them as I do performing them.
Have a Blessed day!!![code]
