Ghana meets Germany meets the USA meets the UK - that’s Nancee in short. Jumping from one continent to the next, this songstress discovered her passion for music at a young age and started writing songs in her early teens. She nurtured her gifts in high school productions, leading roles in community musicals, church choirs and as a session vocalist until she finally decided to pursue a career as a dedicated and professional solo artist. Now Nancee has brought her internationally infused groove to London, where she currently resides.
Since releasing her debut album “Every Step Of The Way” independently at the end of 2011, Nancee has accrued a growing fan base and has started to receive critical acclaim with her fresh urban sounds, distinctive looks and infectious live performances.
Inspired by London’s rich and lively musical landscape the album showcases an appetizing fusion of R&B and Pop tunes. The release preserves a more natural black music vibe than current dance music influenced mainstream productions and aims to add an appealing soulful taste to existing flavours.
The first single “Freedom Is A Kingdom Thing” (Track 2) combines a modern synthy driven sound with an exciting percussion rhythm which reflects her African background. It strives to introduce the audience to a danceable and sweat inducing sound, which highlights the freedom to be yourself from a fresh perspective.
Nancee’s sound has been compared to several artists. Take a dollop of Jessie J for attitude, add a table spoon of Mary Mary for uplifting messages and mix it with a hint of Leona Lewis to highlight the talent of her strong vocals. Not afraid to express genuine, intimate and thought provoking messages, Nancee’s vibrant nature is evident throughout the album, which presents a variety of songs of a personal, political and spiritual nature.
As an artist, Nancee brings a spectacular show to the stage reminiscent of a young Janet Jackson. With a high energy and powerful live experience you won’t soon forget, she draws the attention of any crowd.
