Tony Piff a.k.a. Magiver Knowledge is a perfect example of what East Coast hip-hop is about. Although being born in New York City, and having deep family roots throughout the tri-state area, M.K. was mainly raised in Central New Jersey. Although being influenced by several artists/groups, his main influence was his own struggle. As an avid fan of the hip-hop culture, Piff bought his first rhyme book at the age of 12. Starting off as poetry, writing was a way for him to escape many of his problems as a youth and helped him escape the many issues within his own family. He started joining cyphaz at the local parks/basketball courts, school hallways, and amongst friends as his love for the game grew beyond his belief; very consistent with his growth as an mcee. Once his commitment and confidence grew in his writing efforts, eventually M.K. started sharing his music with people outside of his usual circle of friends. Receiving positive feedback from others only strengthened his passion for writing, which in return lead him straight for the recording booth. Being showcased on several mixtapes in the tri-state area such as Operation Garden State, Tha Blakhouse Album, Pain & Pride Vol. 1, and the newly released Grind$tone Filez: Heatrock & Bedrock Vol. 1 (double cd), Piff has proven to be a very talented and diverse artist. Piff claims "by thinking outside the box and not being afraid to take risks and criticism," he also included R&B into his repertoire. Very focused and motivated, his movement/upcoming independent label/publishing company Grind$tone Ent./Grind$tone Records strives for excellence through music. Whether going major or indie, Mr. Piff himself is determined to showcase himself to the world. After all, we all have a story to tell. Grind$tone is the story of Tony Piff, and it's a damn good read.
