The Beginning
Godfrey Greene best known as Mizta Greene born March 4, 1981 grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia; home of Missy Elliot, Pharrell, Grand Master Jay, and many more. This story begins with a young boy of military descent, whom in his teen years had hard working parents who tried to nurture and guide the often stubborn Mizta Greene. Unlike his young counterparts, Greene had no direction in life and ran wild. Being raised by the streets was something he experienced, making Hip-Hop music his outlet; hustling created many obstacles and hardships. The school of hard knocks is what made Mizta Greene more determined and confident in fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a hip hop artist. He began writing his heartfelt experiences and soon realized; words, poetry, and music became his new family. This is where Godfrey Greene started his journey and transformation into Mizta Greene.
The Birth of Mizta Greene
Mizta Greene’s passion and perseverance made him set out on a journey to find himself. From recording in his friend’s mother’s house; his journey took him into the military which led him to Iraq. He went across the country from coast to coast and border to border; like many of Hip Hop’s Trailblazers before him, with a twist. Along the way he met manager/producer Russell, who was in awe of Greene’s musical talent, they started a movement called Successful Entertainment. In the midst of it all, Greene had a grueling schedule but still found time to do his music. He was officially on his grind. While recording his music and experiences, Mizta Greene felt this art form was a part of his life and culture. An ambitious Mizta Greene made it his goal to be one of the greatest rappers to ever do it. The Tragedy’s and obstacles he encountered made him determined to be the illest, make money, and his moniker was conceived.
