Jahna “Rebel” Sebastian
Jahna Sebastian is a multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer/engineer and founder of Multivzion Music. Born in Moscow, Russia on 12 June 1986 to Indian father who is a genetic scientist and businessman and Russian mother. She graduated from Russian Academy of music in 2006 at the age of 20.
Jahna started performing professionally in 2004, performing on stage together with artists like Mad Professor, Uwe Bunton, Jah Meek etc. Jahna was singing an writing lyrics for bands like "Muzungu" (reggae), "Jah Soldiers"(reggae/hip hop) and "Clean Tone" (p-funk).
She moved to London in 2006 as it started to get more dangerous for her as a mixed-race artist with social themes to live and perform in Russia.
One of her most significant live performances in London to date took place on London Peace Concert in September 2007. In August-September 2008 she shot her first music video (self-funded) on her song "Tough Game". In May 2008 she gave birth to her daughter.
In 2009 Jahna's group Muzungu released album in Russia "Leave It Up" through Navigator Recordsю
In December 2009 Jahna's debut album "Emancipation" has been released on iTunes.
She also records and produces for various artists at her studio "Multivizion Music", from Russian hip hop artists like Oxxxymiron, Tribe, No Limit to UK artists and producers like Congo Natty, Sherene Dyer, Insomnia Beats Productions, Rephlex, and many others.
Jahna believes that through engineering and producing, experimenting with the sounds and working with other people in the studio, she gains a better understanding of music and and it helps her development as an artist.
