Biography
One of the Caribbean’s top entertainers, Frankie Baby comes from the island of St. Vincent & The Grenadines, internationally famous for its Arrowroot Products” Indeed, Frankie Baby music reflects the warmth and musical art forms prevalent in St. Vincent & The Grenadines and throughout the Caribbean. He is well versed in Calypso, Soca, Zouke and Reggae. Not many today can match him for his ability to write music and lyrics. Frankie Baby is truly a multi-talented entertainer.
Frankie Baby began singing calypso in 1958 He first heard of the great Calypsonians like the Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, Lord Nelson on the transistor radio in his village at Rose Hall Frankie Baby has been blessed by both Calypso Rose, the Calypso Queen of the world, and the Mighty Sparrow, the calypso King of the World, as a gifted, talented and top-class Calypsonian.
Frankie Baby became a member of an elite group of calypsonians Residing in Whom in 1998 was awarded Calypso & Soca king by the WEM (West Indian Entertainment Media)
Although Frankie Baby is recognized mostly for Calypso/Soca, he's equally at home in the Reggae genre. With the release of his first reggae CD "Butter Cup", audiences got a taste of just how versatile he is. This was followed in 2005 by the long awaited release of “Caribbean Woman.” He is recognized by top Reggae artistes and Producers around the world and has shared the stage with many of them.
With the success of Frankie Baby’s music, he has become one of St. Vincent and the Grenadines most competent cultural ambassadors. This gifted musician is well respected by his peers and has performed in the Caribbean, the United States, Canada, and Europe to sold-out audiences. He continues to travel year round using his voice to croon uplifting songs that traverse musical genres; audiences and fans are captivated with his simplicity yet intensity. Frankie Baby is a gentleman with a down-to-earth charm, but is a serious professional.
Frankie Baby now resides in Thamesmead Kent and holds a passionate and sincere love for his community
