Hi Laurence Cooper here been on this site for a while now and it\'s one of the best I\'ve found on the net. What I particularly like about it is that all the musicians and performers are all so positive about what they are doing.
I live in New Zealand and love discovering other people\'s music. All the musicians here on Showcase are such a vital force in the world.
I sing and play guitar, solo and with other musicians as well.
I\'ve released 2 CD\'s so far \"56 Coopers Lane\" and the last one \"Phosphorescence\". The CD\'s front cover is of a New Zealand Beach with the back cover Brontes Beach, so really the CD was a joint New Zealand/Australia collaborative effort.(also have a DVD now of Goin\' South, a track from my Phosphorescence CD)
Some of my tunes are on this site. I hope you like them. Phosphorescence was really a labour of love, taking 4 years and several trips to Sydney Australia to do it. One of the great things I enjoyed about recording the CD was being in the Surrey Hills district in Sydney and enjoying lattes and muffins from the local deli close to the studio with my friend Dave, who recorded and provided the technical prowess doing the CD. In fact music and food go so well together:)And a plus was visiting the beautiful surf beaches in Sydney, especially Brontes Beach, where I was inspired to write the title track after seeing the green phosphorescence in the Brontes Beach surf late at night.
I am still trying to get the CD out to as many people as possible as I feel by doing that, that it makes it all worthwhile, as it was quite a journey doing it.
I feel it is a privilege to be on Showcase and to be in touch with so many wonderful and talented musicians.
Take it easy and keep on making your music :)
PS Now playing with The Red blues/rock duo.
