Ronnie, Thats A Me
Biography
RONNIE CAYWOOD has been singing since his early teens. Ronnie gave up his music to pursue another career, but music was always tugging at his heart strings. His love of music, along with his talent & fantastic & powerful voice, led Ronnie back into music where he has developed his own unique country style. Ronnie's original tunes come straight from the heart & thru the lessons that the ups and downs of love & life have taught him. Ronnie unjustly remains one of Country Music's secret finds.

Although Ronnie remains modest about his music, you can find him performing solo gigs or with his band just about anywhere & any time across Central Texas & the Hill Country. including The Oaks in Manor, The Piano Bar & Steakhouse in Rockdale; Hondo’s On Main Fredericksburg, Hill’s Café in Austin, Hilltop Bar & Grille (also known as Poodies) in Spicewood, Texas, Swiss Alp Dancehall, Ruta Maya’s in Austin, & will be featured in the SXSW at The Oaks this year.

Ronnie is in the process of forming a new band, Country Horizons, and is looking for dedicated musicians, and when not doing solo gigs, he and whatever guys he can put together have been playing to a slowly widening & dedicated circle of fans. All the musicians have diverse and successful backgrounds and their musical influences are as widespread as the music they play. Some of the guys are also members of Ace In The Hole band.

Ronnie has been showcased in various Songwriter Nights in Nashville. He's sang at the Bluebird Café & the famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge, both in Nashville. He has had several radio interviews on radio stations throughout the U.S. & his music is being played abroad. Mark Trail of Mark Trail Music, a dear friend and mentor, has been a tremendous and positive influence in our music.

Ronnie has shared bills with Country Singers & Grand Ole Opry stars Claude Gray, Jody Miller, Miss Norma Jean, Mary Lou Turner, Freddie Hart, Darrell McCall, and Freddy Powers. He has also shared bills with Pauline Reese, Justin Trevino, Phillip Glyn, Noel Haggard, and Dickey Overby. Ronnie can be heard on KRXT in Rockdale. Bob Cole has also played some of Ronnie’s music on the Bob and Sammy Show on KVET. He's been on LA Hot Country charts for several months with an original tune & the duet w/Pauline Reese, My Elusive Dreams. Ronnie has opened for Wynn Stewart, Johnny Paycheck, Roy Orbison and other great artists.

Ronnie recently filmed a TV Special with Country Singer Claude Gray at Lonesome Dove Ranch in South Park.

Ronnie has written several great tunes, one of them being Id A Played Here For A Dime, which won him honorable mention in two national song contests. Other songs he has written include, “She Was Brutally Honest With Me“, “How Can That Be“, a trubute to Roy Orbison called “He Sings For The Angels Now” and “Just An Old Dude In A Young Man’s Game“. Ronnie also recorded a duet with Pauline Reese, My Elusive Dreams, which has done quite well.

Ronnies strong vocal abilities & engaging stage presence, along with his distinctive performance style, allow him to entertain audiences with original tunes as well as cover tunes from such artists as Roy Orbison, Van Morrison, Ray Price, John Hiatt, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard & Delbert McClinton to Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings. Elvis Presley, Johnny Rivers, & Ray Price who have all been a tremendous influence in his love of music. His crowd-pleasing tunes range from Country & Alternative Country to a little Rockabilly & Blues. Comfortable in front of all crowds, large or small, in both public & private settings, he consistently offers excellent entertainment while still remaining true to his Texas Music.

A member of the Austin Songwriters Group, BMI, CISN, Indie911, & Gigmasters, he is also listed in the Texas Music Directory, is a member of the Austin Federation of Musicians & an Associate Member of the Academy of Country

Howdy Ronnie Caywood. I knew it was you as soon as I saw the first little thumbnail photo. Too bad a #5 is as high as we can contribute, cause you rate at least an 8.9 (gotta leave room for improvement, ya know). Yee Ha! Larry W. Jones - Kingwood Kowboy
