It's undenyable... what I do is simply undenyable" says Knaledge about his music. Unable to compare to no one, his uniqueness and ability to perfectly put words together is said to be shear poetry.
On the date of March 21, 1981 in a small shack in Kingston Jamaica, Jamil Huie was brought into this world. Although he was the youngest of 3 he was the only boy. So he always felt the need to protect the women in his life. With the dreams of a better life they decided to come to America. With his mother left behind he traveled with his father and 2 sisters. Despite the fact that his mother missed out on most of his childhood he always took with him the one piece of advice she gave him; "ya only hav one life fi live so mek sure seh yah live it" with the motivation from his mother and the attitude of his father, Knaledge was destine to be great. What started Knaledge fascination with hip-hop was just "one song" Biggie Smalls "gimme the loot". Knaledge was impressed by his ability to tell a story in such a particular way and felt he could do the same. From that moment on, Knaledge has devoted countless hours in the studio writing and recording tracks.
Knaledge realism, that he adds to his lyrics ingenuously captavates the attention of his audience. With songs such as "For The Moment" and "Switch My Style Up", he allows the crowd to attain a glimps into his life and what it was like for him growing up. He also explains the business "for what it is". Showing a great deal of versatility in his writing, he has the know-how to write songs that will get the crowd going. For exampl: "Cherrios" and "Let it go". When played in the club you have no choice but to want to get up and get on the dance floor. Knaledge is one of the most talented and hard working rappers out today. And with his witty personality its impossible not to be enticed by him.
Having been featured on the Urban Threshold T.V. show, Knaledge recieved a great deal of exposure to the community. With a resume that includes an array of performances, taking place at anyway from the Remote Lounge, the Rumbor Room to even The Power 105.1 Ladies and Lovers Valentine day concert held at the Northfork theatre. He easily has the capability and the willingness to take on any task that is presented to him.
Although Knaledge markets himself as a solo artist. No artist is complete without a strong team backing him. Robert Meeks and George Long of RM & G-Long productions, help to orchestrate the instruments that's needed to create Knaledge "masterpieces". Talent seems to run in the family with his brother Wiz who has been featured on many tracks alongside him. With his image consultant who is also the head of his marketing team, the extravagant Soda; its no wonder Knaledge can't be ignored.
It was Gandhi that once said "be the change you want to see in the world" Knowledge is that change.... Baby Knalo is definately someone you need to keep your eyes out for, because he's coming and when he gets here your going to have to take a step back. Knaledge is indubitably a force not to be reckon with, after all... "Knaledge is Power".
