About FHG, I grew up a missionary kid in South America and we would attend churches where "little old ladies" would stand up and say "I can't sing very well but 'For His Glory' I dedicate this song. And sure enough they couldn't sing or carry a tune in a bucket and their only notion of a key was something to open a door! But what little they had they were willing to do it For His Glory (FHG).
I myself can't really sing but FHG I hope you enjoy!
About the music:
All drums, bass, strings and synth pads are played by me on a keyboard using Sonar as a host and mostly Ik Sampletank as the sound source.
Laying down the drum tracks is very time consuming since I don't know how to play drums and my timing is atrocious. Fortunately quantizing makes it sound like I know what I'm doing. Add to that the fact that all the guitars are played live without the benefit of quantizing, then the drums don't sound as mechanical.
Some percussion loops are triggered from percussion loops in IK Sampletank (This is true especially on "Nothing But the Blood")
Almost all the acoustic guitar parts are played on my Seagull and recorded via a Marshall mic directly into Sonar. Some of the acoustic guitars might be a Line 6 pretend acoustic.
Almost all the electric guitar leads and rhythms are played by me through a Digitech GNX1.
I plan on having other people who can actually sing well lay down some tracks and then I'll remove all my vocals except maybe some of the backing vocals.
I also plan to have a friend who is a phenomenally gifted guitarist replace and add leads to many of these songs. He's one of those guys who plays chords that I swear don't exist on the guitar.
Thanks all for your interest.
